The current model of care provided to high risk and HIV positive prenatal mothers is fragmented leaving gaps in our healthcare system and mom and baby at risk.

Operating since 2018, Sanctum 1.5 is a transitional care home for pregnant women who inject drugs. We offer a supportive home for women and facilitate mother-infant bonding and positive parenting

Pregnant Women who are:

  • High risk (actively using substances)
  • HIV Positive and not engaged in care
  • At risk infant apprehension at birth
By incorporating existing community services in Sanctum’s safe and supportive environment, the prenatal home works preventively to meet the health and social needs of these women more effectively and efficiently which will improve the health and wellbeing of mom and baby while also mitigating the risks associated with apprehensions of infants at birth.
